Prescott Valley Silent Flyers, Prescott Valley, Arizona, USA

As an introduction, let me begin with who we are and why we started our club.
Rick, John and I are avid Sailplane flyers and have been for many years.
We are all AMA members and are active participants in the LSF. We wanted a dedicated Sailplane club, here in Prescott Arizona, to enjoy our hobby.
As most of you in the hobby know, finding a friendly site is difficult at best and becoming more difficult every day.
We've been very lucky in that regard, as we were able to obtain permission and gain access one of the local high school football fields. It's a great site to fly, but watch out for the uprights, it is a football field!
Thermals abound, the grass is soft and normally the weather is nothing short of great!

Our site is located on the Bradshaw Mountain East High School grounds and they take great pride and care of the field.
They keep the grass soft, healthy and well manicured, just right for our models! At the end of a hard day of flying, we come home with grass stains not cactus spurs on our models!

For anyone who wishes to join us, direction to our field are..
We have virtually unlimited flying space to the North, East and South.
To the West are the school buildings and although they are not an obstacle, we have agreed to maintain at least 300 foot vertical clearance when flying. Please take a look at our field rules.

We encourage flying sailplanes, electric sailplanes, gliders and small electric park flyers. Unfortunately, due to limitations, mainly no runway, we don't have facilities for gas, glow or large electrics, sorry! As we are primarily a sailplane club, all of our scheduled events and efforts are focused in that direction.
We encourage all flyers to participate in honing their skills in performing the basic tasks of precision landings, thermal duration flights and above all having fun!
All members and guests are encouraged to participate in the LSF achievement program but it's not a requirement. LSF is a great way to keep score and challenge yourself to higher goals.
Guide lines for our events have been taken from the LSF and we've established a flying schedule.

We have electric winches, retrievers and hi-starts available. If you don't have experience launching with an electric winch or hi-start, we will be very happy to help.

We hope this short introduction has provided some insight as to who we are as well as our goals and objectives.
