Midnight Sun RC Inc, Fairbanks, Alaska, USA

Midnight Sun Radio Control Club, Inc. (MSRC) was incorporated in the State of Alaska as a not for profit corporation on 24 October 1980.

The specific primary purposes of the Corporation are to own, operate, and maintain a club, exclusively for the pleasure and recreation of its members, to promote and develop activities and skills of its members relating to the construction and operation of radio controlled aircraft models, and other fields of model aviation.

Our current summer flying site is Memorial Field, and is leased from the State of Alaska. This site as grass runways, and water access. The main runway is 600' long, and the cross runway is 400' long. The water access is located parallel to the main runway opposite the parking area, and is suitable for float plane/flying boat activity as well as for model boats. The lake surrounding the flying site is also stocked annual by ADF&G, and is used by many migratory water fowl as their breeding and hatching ground. While there are often many birds flying in the area, we have not had any conflicts between the birds and our model aircraft.

#1 Posted: Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 6:44PM by: Jeff Johnson I was a member shortly after the club started. I still have parts of the Top Flight Corsair that I had back then. I flew with Paul C and Marty H back then. Actually I crashed they flew. I am just now getting back in the sport in Washington and finishing the 1/4 scale Bud Nose Citabria that I started building in 1981 while in high school in Fairbanks.
