The Jackson County Aeromodelers Club is located in Ripley, WV.
Ripley is located near I-77 in the western part of the state.
We have about 20 members ranging in age from 10 to over 80. Most
of the members have been flying for many years.
Members fly various types of planes including nitro, gasoline,
gliders, and electric.
The club has a 30 year lease on a reclaimed landfill owned by
Jackson Co. All flyers flying here must belong to the AMA to
have insurance coverage.
Many young people have been taught to fly by some of our
experienced members using the buddy-box system. We welcome anyone
who would like to join us and fly. Weather permitting, we fly
just about every weekend. We also fly on Jan. 1 every year no
matter what the weather is.
